The late Tage Frid was one of this country’s most influential woodworking teachers. Many of us still have dog-eared copies of some of the articles he wrote over his fifty year career. This DVD is an opportunity to visit Frid’s shop and watch the master at work. Although it includes demonstrations of his techniques of sharpening, cutting dovetails, veneering and other woodworking tasks, it isn’t a how-to, but rather a chance to see the grace of a first-rate craftsman, hear him discuss his philosophy of woodcraft and see his very practical approach to fine woodworking. Part of this material was released in 1997 but here for the first time is the entire film. 75 minutes, DVD format.
