The modern folding rule was invented in the 1850’s by a fellow named Ullrich, of the same Ullrich family that would go on to trademark the name Stabila. To most, the folding ruler is a modest, albeit useful, toolbox standby; for Stabila, the ruler is a matter of family pride.
The Stabila Engineer’s Folding Ruler has a base of high-grade, hard-wearing beech that is printed with crisp lines and lacquered for abrasion resistance. The joints are made of hardened spring steel, which readily snaps to attention and remains fixed open for accuracy when measuring at distance. The Engineer’s Folding Ruler has a top scale of 1/16”, and a reverse scale with 1/10' and 1/100’ for convenient use with decimal-feet.
