Walke Moore Drawer-Slip Clamps are based on the low-profile "drawer-slip cramps" described by Robert Wearing in The Essential Woodworker. These quarter-sawn cherry and stainless steel clamps provide adjustable, and parallel clamping force. Two available sizes, 4in and 6in, fit small to medium work - and either should open sufficiently for any drawer-slip we have ever seen. Both sizes are offered in traditional and counter bored styles. We prefer the counterbored style because it allows the jaws to close flush - however it is ever so slightly more inconvenient to adjust the nut holding the clamps parallel, so we are offering both styles.

We're very excited that Walke Moore has made hardware kits for the clamps available as they present the opportunity to create custom jaws for clamping unusual workpieces with great accuracy. Each stainless steel kit contains the threaded rods, nuts washers and wing nuts to build a pair of clamps, with jaws of your own design. For guidance check out the downloadable measured drawings PDF at the bottom of this page.

There are certainly enough clamp designs out there - but for clamping small work we feel these clamps deserve a look because of the precise attenuation of jaw alignment and pressure they allow. Additionally, the screw rods project from only a single side of the clamp - allowing the clamps to be used a a reference surface, or in locations where a standard twin screw clamp could not fit.
