When we got in the market for an investment-level tool belt system, we took notice of Occidental’s aggressive confidence in their manufacturing standards, and quickly came to understand it. Since 1980 Occidental Leather has been producing tool belts in Sonoma County, CA, exclusively with materials made in the USA. Their premium top-grain leather is treated with a blend of oils and wax for protection against heavy outdoor use, and the bags are designed by a professional builder for maximum comfort and efficiency. The ProFramer is their benchmark design, built to handle any professional carpentry work with 21 pockets and tool holders.
The base for the tool belt system is three inches of 12-14 oz. edge-stitched bridle leather, secured with a nickle-plated buckle. Attached are three components: the 3 Pouch Fastener Bag, 2 Pouch ProTool Bag, and the Hammer Holder. The full set clocks in at 5.4 lbs.
The 3 Pouch Fastener Bag has two large pouches used for stashing fasteners of different sizes, and NoSpill tool holders for tools used with the left hand: 1” blade square, speed/angle square, cat’s paw, and nail sets. There’s a smaller pouch set above that is handy for storing drill bits or a chalk line.
The 2 Pouch ProTool Bag holds all your right-handed tools: tape measure, pencils, lumber crayon, utility knife, chisel, torpedo level, and hammer. The tape holster can fit up to a 35’ tape. The NoSpill system ensures a tight fit for your tools, and the leather will conform to the shape of your tools over time, giving an even more secure and custom fit.
Right in the middle is Hammer Holder, which holds a large claw hammer, while you can keep a cross-peen hammer on the ProTool bag for more accurate work.
Stitched by expert hands and reinforced with well-placed copper rivets, this full-leather tool belt is built to last for a lifetime of the heaviest carpentry work. And you can bet it’ll look even more handsome with every decade of use. We’re certainly proud to be partnered with a company like Occidental.
