The Royal Traveler Vest is further proof that Post Overalls holds a leading role in designing the new modern workwear, brilliantly melding vintage utilitarian design and peerless attention to detail. Global in scope and meticulous in design, the Royal Traveler Vest is made of mosaic cotton calico from Japan and fabricated in NYC with traditional single-needle stitching methods. The curvature of the stitching details suggests a timeless style adopted by woodworkers across centuries.

The construction lends from classic uplands hunting vests, featuring game pockets that allow use of the lining for storage, and extended side pockets that wrap around to the back, which would typically house shotgun shells. The game pockets are cleverly divided at the side seam, so that your books don't go floating to the back of the lining - the side pockets are halved as well, functioning better for dividing up actual nuts and bolts or the figurative nuts and bolts of the day. The interior features two button-closure pockets as well, the left-side pocket includes a button-hole slit for a writing implement; the pocket behind is perfectly sized for a notebook.

Though the fabric pattern is transfixing in its own right, the construction details warrant close inspection. Bartacks are dispersed at critical stress points, the angled yoke is reinforced, and single-needle lockstitching reduces abrasion for durability. The fit is tailored and trim without constricting movement. Post Overalls's Royal Traveler Vest is not only an example of striking design - it is certainly built for vigorous wear. 100% cotton.

I honestly thought that when I bought my Filson vests, I was being extravagant. Wow! No idea as to how to rate this vest, but it sure does look good.
