Pyrography, also known as pyrogravure, pokerwork, and - most poetically, Fire Needle Embroidery, is the art of decorating wood with intentionally applied burn marks. Pyrography has been practiced since prehistoric times - basically wherever humans had wood and fire and the desire to tell stories or create beauty.
