Phil Reardon, a prominent English turner, designed this set of three turning tools - a beading tool, a spindle gouge and a parting tool. All are composed of a heavy round bar that runs the entire length of tool, which gives the tools a nice solid feel, with cork handles that are very warm and comfortable in the hand. The set consists of Skinny Milliny, a 3/16" (4.5 mm) parting tool; Stumpy, a 1/2" (12 mm) spindle gouge that is slightly heavier and deeper than standard; Dumpy, a 3/8" (9 mm) square skew. The cork handles are 6 3/4" long and the overall length of the tools are 13" (Stumpy), 12 1/2" (Dumpy), and 11 1/2" (Skinny Milliny).

Except where noted all tools are made of high speed steel (HSS) and are sold handled. Tony Iles hand finishes each and every turning tool himself and is proud that every tool is shipped with its surfaces ground and edges broken. These are tools that will feel wonderful in the hand, with a heft makes them feel very solid - a real aid in turning. All the tools are shipped sharp and ready to use, although we fully expect many of you to customize the grinds to your particular working methods.
