NO-CHRISPYE.XX
Norton developed this line of sharpening stones with master woodcarver Chris Pye especially for wood carving tools. The stones have been configured to closely fit the sweep of carving tools for faster and more controlled sharpening. Each kit contains a 3" square slipstone with four different profiles on each stone, ranging from flat to semi-circular, so you can maximize contact when working the inside bevel of gouges. Each kit is sized to a different thickness for different width of tools. A special "V" stone is used for all "V" cutters When you’re able to create an exceptional inside bevel or remove any burrs, you’re able to make your carving tools more effective. In addition to slips two kits, one with an Arkansas stone and the the other an India stone are available to complete the range. Together with the bench stones, this is the perfect combination of tool sharpening stones for carvers. See below for an article written by Chris Pye on using these slips and some of his general thoughts on sharpening carving tools. Tools for Working Wood is a proud support of Chris Pye and his website at the
www.chrispye-woodcarving.com
.
All slipstone kits come in plastic storage cases.
