This unique wooden plane is designed for cutting the male portion of a sliding dovetail joint. It's very similar to a moving filletster plane, except there is no depth stop and the sole is sloped at 10 degrees. A study steel fence sets the width of cut, up to 1-5/16". The plane comes with a substantial adjustable nicker to cut a clean shoulder line cleanly across the grain. The iron is held in place with a traditional wedge and is adjusted with a hammer. Maximum shoulder depth is 7/8". Beech body, hornebeam sole. Made in Germany.
