by Carlyle Lynch

Perhaps one of the oldest and most popular pieces on display at Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts, this flat wall cupboard exemplifies the simple, sparse construction of the Colonial era. The cupboard itself has no back. Wood turn buttons hold the doors closed rather than metal latches. Snipe hinges are used on the door. Suggestions are given for alternative tops authentic to the period. The top on the original is a reconstruction. H.81, W.66, D.16 5/8. This piece is in the Old Sturbridge Village collection, Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

Each set of Carlyle Lynch measured drawings is accompanied by a detailed parts list with measurements, a list of hardware, and notes detailing any extra information that might be required, such as certain construction details.
