"The Linen Press, as a storage form of furniture developed in the 1600's" MESDA. This beautiful example of the work of James Gheen of Rowen County, North Carolina, dates from about 1780. Walnut, poplar and pine. The plan suggests ways to modify it for a home entertainment center. H.77, W.38, D.19. This piece is part of the collection at the Museum of Early Decorative Arts (MESDA) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
