News from Brooklyn - Product Updates
12/03/2009
Our pre-production saw vise is about to stop being pre-production. The first shipment was picked up and is on the way here. Before we ship anything to customers we of course will inspect and test the shipment but barring some major catastrophe we expect to start shipping next week. The initial truck load won't be enough to cover all our orders but once we give the thumbs up the rest of the first production run should be on it's way here a few days later. I do apologize for the delay - but making stuff is a tricky thing and sometimes things take longer.

We have also been out of stock on carcase saws, carcase saw kits and dovetail saw kits. Back blanks have just have just arrived. They need to be finished them up. Most other parts of the assembly go quickly. I am reasonably confident of getting them out real soon. (I don't want to say absolutely just in case circumstances proof me wrong). Almost all our products indicate stock status next to the price listing

14" Sash saws with a closed handle should be out at the very end of the year. We just got the blade blanks in and they need to be set and sharpened. THey will have to take a lower priority to carcase saws but once we get into the swing of things everything goes fast.

Our German Garnet and Amber Shellac will be shipping next week too.

Bowsaws after a brief shortage are readily available for immediate shipment.

I am sorry for any delays but as a small company our ability to create great products has just grown faster than our ability to manage their manufacture and this fault is mostly mine. We are getting better at it - both as we expand production and as we figure out how to keep track of stuff better.

Awesome!

I'd like to install threaded inserts in my bench to get it ready for the vise. Could you post a printable PDF pattern for drilling the mounting holes?

thanks!

Joel-

Though I'm sure you get this question every ten minutes, when do you expect the sash saw to be available? Is it possible to pre-order?

Dave,
We don't know at this point how repeatable the bent steel back will be. Variables in welding and bending need to be checked against real production. In any case the best way to locate the holes for the threaded inserts is to use a VIX bix. They work like magic.

Ryan,
We hope the saw to be out by the end of the year. Considering my track record in release dates I wouldn't hold my breath. Onwe get a clearer idea of actually when we start the final assembly run it will be available for pre-order (probably at a small discount).
