Working Drawings of Colonial Furniture, originally published in 1922, was part of a resurgence of interest in Colonial America. This movement included fife & drum marches, a look back at the founders of this nation, and a revival of the popularity of colonial style furniture. This small book is crammed with a wide range of measured drawing for making your own furniture. The author, Frederick Bryant, brings a modest and practical focus to his interest in Chippendale, Hepplewhite and other masters. As he states, the book is intended for students, but he hopes it would be of use to anyone interested in woodworking. The plans are well drawn, and are fully dimensioned, with basic notes on the piece and any details of construction you should watch out for. Unlike modern plans, these drawing do not contain all the joinery details, so you therefore have the option of making the piece traditionally or using modern joinery methods. The plans included are:
